Jen Dick, MSN APRN-NP
My nursing career began as a Registered Nurse in the Intensive Care Unit at an area health system. While working, I returned to school and graduated with my Master’s degree as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse from Creighton University.
After graduating, I worked for a nursing home network as a Nurse Practitioner and provided care for patients undergoing skilled rehabilitation and long term care. I then switched career roles and worked as a hospitalist Nurse Practitioner on the evening shift. In July of 2016, I joined Nebraska Cancer Specialist as a site Nurse Practitioner and switched to the role as Dr. Block’s Nurse Practitioner in October of 2017.
I decided to pursue a career in nursing in honor of my grandmother who fought her own battle with breast cancer. I was truly inspired by the group of nurses who provided care to her.
Working in oncology has provided me opportunities to impact the lives of many patients and families as they face their cancer journey. I am humbled daily and feel very privileged to be able to provide care to this group of individuals and their families and feel truly blessed to be a part of each one of their stories.
