I have been in nursing for 12 years in various areas; cardiology, cardiac surgery, lung cancer and surgical oncology with a focus on breast cancer, melanoma and GI cancers. Prior to pursing my nursing degree, I obtained a degree in public health and worked extensively in cancer prevention and advocacy with the American Cancer Society. I graduated in May 2017 from UNMC with a Master’s in Nursing. My motivation for changing careers is that cancer has personally touched my family inspiring me to walk this path with others. Every day I am humbled and privileged to be part of each patient’s journey. I am married with 2 boys that keep my husband and I very busy with all their activities.
