Lori received her Master of Arts Degree in Counseling from the University of Nebraska. She has a private practice where she works extensively with oncology patients, their caregivers and their families. She has been a facilitator with A Time To Heal for the past 9 years and currently serves on the Board of Directors. She also volunteers in the cancer community with Grief’s Journey, is a member of the Great Plains Colon Cancer Task Force, Wear Yellow Nebraska and the Nebraska Cancer Coalition.
But…she likes to say her most important credential is that she is a 16-year Stage III Colon Cancer survivor. She has personally walked this journey and likes to say “I speak this language.” She specializes in supporting patients in navigating the cancer journey. Emotional support is often an overlooked, essential component of treatment. It’s not just about treating the physical body, she believes we must also treat the WHOLE person…Mind, Body and Spirit, which ultimately leads to our best lives. Lori’s other favorite saying is “Live After Cancer Is All About LIVING”! To that end, she has many hobbies outside of her work – hiking 14ers, cycling “centuries”, running half marathons and doing it all with her husband, three children and pup Winston!
