Carissa Wollman, PA-C

My interest in medicine began when I served as a volunteer at Methodist hospital as a high school student. Thereafter, I knew I wanted to be involved in patient care. As a college student I worked as a CNA in a long-term care facility. After receiving my undergraduate degree in biology and minor in Spanish from Wayne State College, I attended UNMC and completed their accelerated nursing program. After nursing school, I accepted a position at a local health system and worked on the oncology floor for several years.

Working in oncology has been incredibly humbling. The patients, families, and colleagues I have met along the way have sincerely shaped me into the provider I am today, and continue to do so. I am grateful to be a member of the amazing team at Nebraska Cancer Specialists.

Outside of caring for patients, I enjoy road biking, cheering for the Huskers, traveling, kayaking, golfing, playing ping-pong, and most importantly, spending time with my family and friends.
