Nebraska Cancer Specialists Grows Team
Spreads Word on Integrated Cancer Care
Physician Liaison hired to Connect More Patients and Providers to Top Care
Omaha, Neb. – Nebraska Cancer Specialists (NCS) has hired Kelly Horn as Physician Liaison. Horn will lead the growing practice’s overall marketing strategy and community involvement while working to grow connections between area physicians and providers to NCS’s team of experienced oncologists.
“I’m excited to be a part of a practice that is doing things the right way. At Nebraska Cancer Specialists, we never lose sight of the reason we are here. I know that every conversation, project or task is ultimately affecting patient care in some way,” Horn said.
Horn began her career in marketing and business development for local and national insurance firms and the financial services industry before moving to healthcare.
“My experience in insurance gave me a broad understanding of how the healthcare system works but moving to the other side of the desk and working for private practice physicians gave me a completely different perspective,” Horn said.
At NCS, Horn will draw on her experience in building strong relationships in working to connect the NCS team with the patients who need them.
“Kelly is an excellent addition to our team,” said Danielle Geiger, practice administrator for NCS. “We are really proud of the level of care NCS provides. With Kelly’s help, I think we can spread the word and ultimately help more individuals and families whose lives are impacted by cancer.”
NCS is among the leading community oncology practices in the nation. With a focus on fully-integrated, compassionate care, they were the first specialized cancer practice in the Midwest to add mental health services to patient resources that already included elements such as occupational therapy and industry-leading access to clinical trials.
“I’ve seen first-hand how relentless the NCS doctors and staff are when it comes to giving our patients everything they need to succeed. That’s a story I’m looking forward to telling,” said Horn.
