“Occupational therapy has a distinct value and effect on everyday living, health, and well-being. Our unique focus on our clients as holistic persons, lends to client-centered interventions that are especially meaningful and purposeful. I have found this to be unfailing while working within the oncology setting. I find it especially powerful and impactful to assist my clients through a very difficult period in their lives. Whether it is assisting in decreasing the discomfort from lymphedema or developing the strength and activity tolerance needed to attend a child’s graduation, I know I am improving the quality of life for my clients regardless of his or her prognosis”.
