Celebrating the Heart of NCS
At Nebraska Cancer Specialists, exceptional care doesn’t just happen. It’s built—every day—by an incredible team of people who show up with heart, hustle, and hope. During Employee Appreciation Week, we hit pause to say what we’re always thinking: thank you.
Thank you to our nurses who calm nerves with a smile and a steady hand. To our medical assistants who remember the little details that make a patient feel seen. To our schedulers who juggle a million moving parts with patience and grace. To our lab techs, researchers, radiation therapists, billing staff, valets, admin teams—the list goes on. Every role matters. Every person counts.
This week, we celebrated with snacks, games, treats, and a whole lot of laughter (because we all know food + fun is the love language of healthcare). But more importantly, we recognized the grit and compassion that define the NCS culture every single day of the year.
Working in oncology isn’t easy. It takes strength, empathy, and a deep belief in people. Our team shows up in that space—over and over again—with the kind of kindness that can’t be trained. They’re the ones holding hands during hard moments and ringing the bell during the best ones.
They are the reason “community oncology” feels like community in the first place.
To our NCS team: you are the heartbeat of this organization. Your work is noticed, your presence is valued, and your dedication changes lives. We’re grateful for you this week—and every week.
