DOTober at NCS
Each October, Nebraska Cancer Specialists (NCS) celebrates DOTober, a month-long initiative dedicated to raising awareness about cancer and emphasizing the importance of prevention and early detection. DOTober stands for Detect, Overcome, Thrive—a powerful message that highlights our commitment to educating the community and supporting patients through every step of their cancer journey.
Detect
Early detection is critical in the fight against cancer. Regular screenings, self-checks, and routine health exams are essential tools in catching cancer in its early stages, when treatment is most effective. During DOTober, NCS encourages individuals to be proactive about their health by scheduling routine screenings, such as mammograms, colonoscopies, and skin checks. These screenings can detect cancers like breast, colon, and skin cancer before symptoms even appear, greatly increasing the chances of successful treatment.
Overcome
