Emily Zmijewski PA-C

Clinical excellence, empathy, and respect for the patient experience guide Emily’s work at Nebraska Cancer Specialists. She believes it’s a privilege to care for patients during some of the most vulnerable moments of their lives and approaches each interaction with compassion, honesty, and respect. Having personal experience as both a caregiver and family member of loved ones with cancer, Emily understands the emotional complexity, uncertainty, and anxiety patients and families face throughout diagnosis, treatment, and difficult conversations.

Emily earned her Master of Physician Assistant Studies from Stony Brook University. She has a strong academic and research background, with particular interest in malignant hematology. Her published research includes work focused on hepcidin regulation, liver signaling pathways, and the biological effects of alcohol exposure, with publications in World Journal of Gastroenterology and World Journal of Biological Chemistry.

Outside of work, Emily enjoys traveling with her family to national parks, where they tent camp, hike, and fly fish together. She is the proud mother of a four-year-old daughter and a two-year-old son, who are her greatest joys. Emily values time spent outdoors and with family, and she brings that same sense of presence and gratitude into her work with patients.

You’ll see Emily at several Nebraska Cancer Specialists locations, including the Legacy, Bergan, Papillion, and Fremont clinics, as well as providing inpatient care at Methodist Hospital.
