About Kirsten Leu MD, FACP
I was born in Evanston, IL but spent most of my time growing up in the Chicago suburb of Mount Prospect. I attended medical school at the University of Iowa and completed my residency in Wisconsin and my fellowship in Michigan. As a medical oncologist, I enjoy listening to my patients and together we decide on a course of action. Most of my free time is spent with my husband and our three children attending their various sporting events. I also enjoy Hawkeye football, supporting local charities, and going for walks.

She is knowledgeable, keeps up in current research, is experienced, kind, compassionate, and committed to delivering the highest quality of care. With a cancer diagnosis, I couldn’t ask for more from a provider. Also, the nurses at Estabrook are amazing as well. They provide great care and take the time to get to you and notice when you’re not “yourself” or struggling and try to help with that as well. I’m extremely lucky to be receiving my cancer care through NCS at Estabrook.

- The road construction around the facility caused me to be a little late for my appointment. It would have helped to know ahead of time about the traffic route/ construction .

She took her time. She explained things in detail. I really felt like we created a plan together. Her nurse case manager could tell I was a little overwhelmed. She also took the time to answer my questions and really made me feel like my care is important to her.
