Nebraska Cancer Specialists Announces 2026 No-Cost Community Lung Cancer Screenings
OMAHA, Neb. — Nebraska Cancer Specialists (NCS) is proud to continue its commitment to prevention and early detection by offering no-cost community lung cancer screenings in 2026. Screenings will take place at the Midwest Cancer Center – Legacy, 17201 Wright Street, Suite 100, Omaha, NE 68130, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on the following dates:
- February 12, 2026
- May 14, 2026
- August 13, 2026
- November 12, 2026
About the Screening
Lung screenings can detect the possibility of cancer and lung disease at an early stage, when treatment is most effective. Nebraska Cancer Specialists’ lung screening program provides a comprehensive, personalized experience that includes a low-dose CT scan of the lungs and a detailed follow-up plan guided by a certified lung health navigator.
Who Should Get Screened?
Individuals may be at higher risk for lung cancer if they meet any of the following criteria:
- Current smokers or those who quit smoking within the past 15 years
- Smoking history of one pack a day for 20 years, or two packs a day for 10 years
- Family history of lung cancer
- Lifetime exposure to environmental factors such as secondhand smoke, asbestos, lead, pesticides, fertilizers, or other hazardous materials

- No Cost: Screenings are provided at no charge.
- Open to the Public: All eligible community members are welcome.
