Sara Schutt DNP, APRN

Building meaningful relationships and providing patient-centered care are what motivates Sara in her work at Nebraska Cancer Specialists. Although she began nursing school with plans to work in the neonatal intensive care unit, Sara soon discovered her passion for oncology during her preceptorship on an inpatient oncology floor. The deep connections she formed with patients during that time inspired her to pursue a career in oncology, where she has continued to serve patients ever since.

Sara was born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska, and earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Nebraska Methodist College. She later returned to Nebraska Methodist College to earn her Doctor of Nursing Practice and Family Nurse Practitioner degree. Knowing she wanted to continue caring for patients facing cancer, Sara feels grateful to have found a professional “home” at Nebraska Cancer Specialists.

Sara especially values the opportunity to build personal connections and long-term relationships with patients and their families, believing trust and understanding are essential to providing excellent care.

Outside of work, Sara enjoys spending time with her family, being outdoors, and cheering on the Chicago Cubs.
