What to expect when you arrive to the clinic

  • You will be provided with a pair of scrubs to change into for your test.
  • A nurse will start an IV in your hand or arm (or port).
  • You will be given fluids, a contrast tracer, and possibly medications through the IV.
  • You will have a waiting period of approximately sixty (60) minutes while the contrast tracer circulates in your body. You will rest in a private room during this time. Family will be asked to wait in waiting room during this time.
  • After the waiting period, the scan will occur and will last approximately twenty to twenty-five minutes.
  • Following the scan, you may change into your own clothing and are able to return home.
