Nebraska Cancer Specialists opens clinic in Council Bluffs

The community’s newest full service cancer clinic opens in Council Bluffs on September 6, 2023. Designed with comfort and convenience in mind, we are committed to providing patients with the best possible care and support during their cancer treatment journey.

We understand the challenges that come with a cancer diagnosis, and we strive to make the patient experience as stress-free as possible. That’s why this fall, our team will provide care to patients in a new, state-of-the-art facility, offering a variety of treatment options, clinical research trials, and a wide range of supportive services located on the Methodist Jennie Edmundson Hospital campus in Council Bluffs.

I have a strong interest in how the immune system interacts with cancer, and how those interactions can be utilized to treat many cancers. The fields of hematology and oncology are complex, and I’m committed to providing the best, high quality care that modern medicine has to offer, along with a sincere desire to treat people, not just a disease.

Pornchai Jonglertham MD Pornchai Jonglertham MD
Dr. Pornchai Jonglertham (PJ) is a board certified hematologist and medical oncologist. After completing his fellowship, he gained clinical and research experience internationally including Johns Hopkins-National University Hospital of Singapore before returning to practice general hematology and medical oncology in Nebraska since 2007.

What services are offered?
One of the highlights of our clinic is our beautiful infusion center, designed to meet various needs. Our oncology trained staff is experienced in administering a range of infusions, including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, injections, rheumatoid and gastrointestinal therapies, IV fluids, and iron infusions. Whether it is oncology related treatments, or non-oncology therapies, we strive to provide comprehensive care in a comfortable and welcoming environment.

Can I still see my current doctor?
At NCS, we value collaboration and are open to working alongside other oncology clinics and health systems. By working together, we can effectively manage patient care and ensure that individuals can receive the treatment they need while remaining in their local communities.
